Transport Minister Anthony Loke said JPJ has set a MyJPJ availability target of 99.5% to 99.9% to keep the app stable and reduce service disruptions. He also said users will be told in advance about scheduled maintenance, and JPJ has steps to handle failed road tax or licence transactions.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has set a MyJPJ system availability target of 99.5% to 99.9%. The aim is to keep the app running stably and reduce the impact of outages on users. In a written reply in Parliament, Loke said scheduled maintenance is excluded from the availability target, and users will be informed beforehand when maintenance is carried out. He added that JPJ continuously monitors the app, database and network to detect delays, failures or unsuccessful transactions. For users who face problems when renewing road tax or driving licences, JPJ has a recovery process. If payment has been deducted but the transaction is not completed, JPJ will check with the payment provider and bank, then update the record once the payment is confirmed. Users do not need to pay again. If a payment is confirmed to have failed or is incomplete, JPJ will work with payment providers on a refund within the bank’s processing timeframe. In a major system failure, JPJ said it will inform users and, if necessary, direct them to the official portal or physical counters for alternative service. What it means for you: If you use MyJPJ, a failed payment should not force you to pay twice, but you should keep proof of the deduction and follow JPJ’s official complaint channels if needed.
