The finance minister II said nearly 21,700 applications to transfer Budi Madani Diesel eligibility had been approved as of October 27. The scheme now allows registered diesel vehicle owners to pass the entitlement to actual users who meet the eligibility rules.

Nearly 21,700 applications to transfer Budi Madani Diesel eligibility had been approved as of October 27, finance minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said, according to a report cited by paultan.org.

The transfer facility has been available since September 16 for registered owners of private diesel vehicles under Budi Diesel. Eligible owners can transfer their subsidised diesel quota to actual users who are Malaysians with a valid MyKad and who qualify for Budi95 subsidised petrol.

Amir Hamzah said owners with more than one diesel vehicle may transfer their entitlements to up to three other people, depending on how many vehicles they own and subject to eligibility checks.

He said the change is meant to address common usage patterns in Sabah and Sarawak, where vehicles are often driven by family members, workers or other users who are not the registered owners. The article also notes that the transfer was previously limited to immediate family members.

What it means for you: If you are a registered diesel vehicle owner, you may be able to transfer your Budi Diesel entitlement to the actual user, but the recipient still has to pass the eligibility checks.
