EPMB says its Pegoh, Melaka plant can now assemble more than 30,000 vehicles a year on one extended shift. The company also outlined upgrades including a 480 kW charging station and a paint shop due to start production in August 2027.

EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) said its Pegoh, Melaka plant can now assemble more than 30,000 vehicles a year on one extended shift. The company said this is supported by extra assembly stations and manufacturing software.

EPMB executive chairman Hamidon Abdullah said the Lot 210 line, the plant’s first line, can now build 10 cars an hour, up from four an hour, bringing it in line with Lot 209’s capacity. At Lot 212, EPMB has also built a new facility with more equipment for faster ADAS calibration.

The company added another pre-delivery inspection line, plus two more touch-up paint booths, bringing the total to three. It has also installed a new 480 kW charging station for the battery-powered vehicles it is assembling.

EPMB said it has bought the adjoining 18 acres for finished-vehicle storage and additional warehousing. On its RM200 million paint shop, the company said the line is scheduled to begin production at the end of August 2027 and will handle 50,000 vehicle sets a year.

What it means for you: workshops and dealers can expect EPMB’s Melaka plant to be better set up for faster assembly and EV-related production work as the upgrades roll out.
