APAD to phase in rule on express bus tickets sold only at licensed terminals

APAD says the new rule on express bus ticket sales will be implemented in phases after the original November 1 enforcement date. Passengers may continue using existing booking channels for now.
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) says the new rule requiring express bus ticket sales to be coordinated through licensed terminals and registered operators’ online platforms will not be enforced all at once.
Instead, the agency will adopt a phased rollout, or “soft landing,” after the original November 1 enforcement date. APAD said this is to give terminal operators and express bus companies more time to prepare their systems and processes.
The preparation includes adjusting ticketing systems, integrating digital platforms and aligning operations so the transition can happen with less disruption.
For now, passengers can still buy tickets through the existing platforms and methods until further notice. Those who have already booked online are advised to confirm their arrangements through the relevant licensed terminals or ticketing channels.
The Transport Ministry and APAD are continuing to monitor technical readiness in the industry before full implementation.
What it means for you: if you travel by express bus, you can still use current booking channels for now, but check with the licensed terminal or operator before your trip.
