Proton exports 7,370 cars in first 9 months of 2026

Proton says it exported 7,370 vehicles in the first nine months of 2026, already above its full-year 2025 export total of 6,000 units. The company says Geely-branded vehicles helped lift the numbers.

Proton says it exported 7,370 vehicles in the first nine months of 2026. The company said this already surpassed the 6,000-unit export total it recorded for the whole of 2025.

According to Proton, the increase was driven mainly by Geely-branded vehicles. The cars were exported from Proton’s Tanjong Malim plant.

The company had already crossed the 6,000-unit mark earlier in the year. By August 2026, Proton said export sales had reached 6,059 units, after exporting 2,477 units in that month alone.

Proton also said the 2026 Geely Okavango is part of its export plan and is being assembled at the Tanjong Malim plant for export. The report was published on 19 October 2026.

What it means for you: Proton’s export growth shows Malaysian-built models are moving into more markets, which can support parts, service, and workshop demand tied to export-oriented production.
