Johor JPJ has issued 7,804 Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP)-related summonses from January 1 to October 18, 2026, with total compounds of RM1.17 million. The notices were given to foreign vehicles found without a valid, active or properly registered VEP.

Johor’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) has issued 7,804 Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP)-related summonses so far this year, Bernama reported.

According to the report, the figures cover the period from January 1 to October 18, 2026, and the total compounds collected reached RM1.17 million.

The summonses were issued to foreign vehicles that were found to be without a valid VEP, had an expired VEP, or were still in pre-registration status.

The enforcement comes after VEP rules were fully implemented at the Malaysia-Singapore land border. The article also notes that, so far, no foreign vehicle has been barred from leaving Malaysia through the two entry points for failing to settle the summonses.

What it means for you: Workshops and dealers serving Singapore-registered vehicles should remind customers to check VEP status before entering Johor, especially if the permit is expired or still pending registration.
