APAD asks school bus operators to update driver details before Oct 30 for RM1,000 aid
APAD is asking school bus owners and operators to update their drivers’ details on the government portal before October 30. This is to speed up payment of the RM1,000 aid announced in Budget 2027.
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) is urging all school bus owners and operators in Malaysia to update their drivers’ details on the government portal before October 30.
The move is meant to help ensure the RM1,000 aid announced in Budget 2027 is paid out on time. APAD said the government wants the payments completed before Deepavali, and disbursement is set to begin in phases from October 22.
APAD said it has worked with the Malaysian school bus associations federation and the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor school bus operators association to make the verification process orderly.
The information required includes the driver’s name, address, phone number, valid driving licence and PSV licence, as well as a bank account number. APAD said the details will be checked against its own records, plus LPKP and JPJ databases.
What it means for you: School bus operators should update driver records quickly so payment is not delayed, especially if you manage a fleet or workshop account for school transport vehicles.
